Living on a main drag, I've come to enjoy the results of the efficient village snow plowing efforts as the mouth of my driveway and the mouth of the sidewalk that crosses the berm get regularly sealed with heavy, salt impregnated snow, three to four feet high and thick based. The electric snow sweeper can't dent it. The snow shovel can't dent it. It's a wall that hunkers solidly and dares you to move it before Spring.
Enter the long handled metal bladed spade! Solid wall splintered, chopped into segments and moved to elsewhere. My thanks to some peasant, some farmer, some pragmatic person who needed to clear stuff away without needing medical attention for his/her back and made that tool. Maybe, somewhere, there's an app for that. Never mind. Back inside for warmth and hot coffee. All is good.
